Start Turning Mountains Back into Molehills

Transformation seems hard, maybe pointless — a Sisyphean battle.

The journey ahead is filled with uncertainty.

You’ve been down this path before.
Maybe you got burned. Or maybe you just failed spectacularly.
Either way, it hurt a little, so you retreated back to your comfort zone.

During your retreat, you shot yourself in the foot.
You healed slowly.
Limped your way back to the path.

Now, you’re here, again —
making mountains out of molehills.

It’s easy to get pissed off at yourself for the lack of progress, lack of money, lack of freedom.

Lack. Lack. Lack.

Blah. Blah. Blah.

Today, is a good day to practice listening to yourself.

And more importantly, really feel yourself.

Hold that tension. Don’t soothe it, fight it, or run from it. Just hold it.

Notice how you react to what shows up today.
Pay attention to how it showed up.
Explore your feelings about your current situation, and what you think about the future.
Your thoughts and feelings create your reality, because they affect your choices.

Look for a sense of permanence.
Nothing is permanent.
Change is constant.

When you treat certain situations as if they were some immovable force, they become impossible to move.

Stop treating the life of your dreams as the impossible dream.

You’re not doing yourself any favors playing the martyr.

As you spend your days mulling over unfounded worry, you miss the entire point about life.

You miss the magic in each moment. The inner critic drowns it out. Makes you think that there is something wrong with the world because it’s not perfect yet.

Look around.

It can all disappear in the blink of an eye.

What (or who) is here now, when it’s gone, you’ll feel a void?

What (or who) is here today, that you can connect with on a deeper level?

What (or who) is part of your journey, that makes you feel grateful?

I’m not asking you to stick your head in the sand.

Don’t ignore the sticky, uncomfortable feelings that you have about certain people, or situations.

That won’t help.

I’m asking you to lean into the pain a little, and redirect your focus.

Feel what you need to, but don’t let that fear control you.

This isn’t about being a Positive Person

Positivity for the sake of positivity is a trap.

Be careful.

Make the best of every situation, but don’t ignore red flags.

Be mindful.

Bring your full awareness into your actions today, especially the actions you dread in advance.

Be at peace with yourself in all your messy glory.

Bring peace into the world.

Move forward along your path. One step. One Breath. One moment at a time.

Find Harmony. Be Balanced. Walk and live with/in grace.

It’s nice that you want to look ahead; peer into the future and create what you see.

I admire that.

But, doing that, you miss the point…

… And you miss it by a mile.

Life is not an either/or scenario.

Happiness is not a mathematical equation.

When your sense of happiness depends on “if then,” you’ll always search.

Don’t get caught up in that cycle again.
Don’t try to fill the void.
Drop the idea that when you get there, it will finally be enough.

You know, as well as I do, it’ll never be enough.

You’ll always want more.

You are insatiable.

That’s ok.

Don’t fight it.

Own it.

Use it to your advantage.

But, be careful.

Don’t let your insatiable nature convince you that you’re not enough or that you’re not good enough.

That’s just crazy talk.

Pay attention today to the story going on in your head.

Pay close attention to the feelings that you feel.

And breathe through the rough patches. Notice where the energy is stuck in your body. Pay attention to the obsessions of your mind.

Take the step you need to take today — the next best step.

Rest when you feel the need..

Move when you are inspired.

The journey ahead if filled with uncertainty.

But, one thing is for certain.

If you don’t put in the work, you won’t reap the reward.

In anything you want to achieve there are foundational steps everyone needs to take.

There are also steps to mastery.

Focus on mastery.

Let the rest take care of itself.
